I have always been curious about the little things.

A color that catches my eye. A texture that makes me want to reach out and feel it. A pattern hidden in everyday surroundings. A material behaving in an unexpected way.

Somewhere between noticing these little details and wondering “what if?”, I found my way into textile design.

I’m Akanksha, a textile designer, creative explorer, and lifelong learner with a deep curiosity for colour, texture, materials, and the stories they can tell. My journey in design has been shaped by a constant desire to observe, experiment, and turn ideas into something tangible.

For me, textile design has never been simply about making something beautiful. It is about discovering what a material can become, understanding how an idea can translate through colour and surface, and finding that delicate balance between creativity, functionality, and expression.

Over the years, my curiosity has taken me through different stages of the design process — from research and sketching to experimentation, sampling, development, and final execution. I have explored prints, woven structures, materials, techniques, and surfaces, learning that sometimes the most interesting outcomes are the ones you never quite planned.

And that is what I love most about creating.
